PLACE OF WORK: 

Dugway Proving Ground is seeking applicants with a ammunition accountability background for a Distribution Facilities Specialist for the Logistics Office (S4) for Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Dugway Proving Ground is approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah, and 90-minute drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. Job Responsibilities

Serves as ammunition accountability specialist with responsibility for the chemical, conventional, non-standard ammunition, and hazardous waste storage facilities. Provides guidance on receiving, storing, and shipping functions relative to munitions, hazardous waste, and surety material. Maintains installation ammunition stock record account to include formal accountability for all ammunition, ammunition components, explosives, grenades, pyrotechnics, small arms ammunition, and agents.  Responsible for coordinating shipments containing ammunition and explosives and the ability to certify transportation of hazardous materials. Is responsible for ensuring that all guidance is followed when certifying wood packing material.

Specialized Experience

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. If your resume does not contain this information, your application may be marked as incomplete, and you may not receive consideration for this position.

 

Specialized Experience for the GS-11: In order to be found qualified, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Applying regulations governing the shipment, receipt or storage of ammunition; 2) Interpreting shipping documents to plan for proper loading/shipping and storage of ammunition; 3) Utilizing automated supply systems and applicable databases to research supply transactions to plan for storage and distribution requirements; AND 4)  Advising on ways to improve the efficiency and/or economy of the distribution or storage operationsThis definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as degree or LL.M in Supply management, logistics, or related field.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.   • Knowledge of ammunition and explosive physical security procedures
