Job Summary

PERIOD OF ASSIGNMENT: This is a Supervisory Aircraft Pilot [Detail/Temporary Position], NH-2181-04 temporary/promotion opportunity with an estimated start time of 14 December 2025. Assignment to last up to 120 days.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Air Combat Systems Directorate is seeking motivated candidate(s) for this assignment which provides broadening experience working as a Supervisory Aircraft Pilot in Flight Services Division. This is a detail with promotion opportunity if selected candidate meets the minimum qualifications.
Job Responsibilities
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for operation of assigned aircraft, and performs as lead test support Pilot-In-Command (PC) for unit.
- Provides oversight to aviation safety program for the installation airfield. Observes flight and ground operations; inspects physical condition of the airfield and facilities with Airfield Manager to detect and correct unsafe practices. Takes all necessary corrective actions.
- Responsible for planning and directing all functions inherent to overall services and operational requirements of the aviation activities in support of test programs, tenant activities, visiting units, and installation support.
- Overseas the formulation and execution of the budget supporting the aviation facilities.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion to interpret the long and short term aviation needs and to develop long term goals, set priorities, develop integrated financial planning and develop initiatives for a creative business based financial profile. The inherent functions govern overall aviation services and include contractor activities, flight support, aircraft maintenance, flight advisory service, airfield operations, and airfield facilities providing aviation support.
- Assesses resource requirements, identifies financial or budgeting needs, facility/material or equipment shortages or manpower adjustments, and initiates action to satisfy the requirement.
- Responsible for the execution of administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to the Flight Services Division operations.
- Verifies employee timecards, reviews and approves request for leave. Promotes acceptance and adherence to provisions of security regulations.
- Plans, assigns, and evaluates work of subordinates. Directs a diverse, multi-functional work operation and uses subordinate team leads in guiding and controlling assigned work.
- Functions as key member of Aviation Standardization and Safety Council.
- Plan, prepares and presents a variety of reports to leadership on topics such as budget status, workload, work focus areas, challenges/issues.
Job Qualification
Promotion opportunity candidates must meet the below minimum Aircraft Operation Series 2181 Qualification Standards. Candidate will be qualified by CHRA using OPM qualification standards.
