PLACE OF WORK: 

Dugway Proving Ground is seeking a Chemist, Physical Scientist, or General Engineer with Chemical or Biological Test and Evaluation experience for the Chemical Test Division, Chemical Test Branch for Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Dugway Proving Ground is approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah, and 90-minute drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. Job Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs the operations of the Chemical Test Branch
  • Oversees the implementation of the branch’s strategic plans in support of the Chemical Test Division Strategy.
  • Supervises the execution of test and evaluation test programs to include developmental and operational testing. 
  • Act as liaison for the Chemical Test Division to the customer and other test and evaluation entities, maintaining open communications to benefit the division.

Specialized Experience

Specialized Experience for the GS-14: To be found qualified, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience: 1) Managing chemical or biological test and evaluation programs; 2 Formulating policies and standard operating procedures relative to critical and complex chemical instrumentation, laboratory, or chamber operations; 3) Provide management oversight of technical approaches to testing, data analysis and integrity, and writing of test plans and reports. AND 4) Acting as liaison to test and evaluation entities outside of your organization to facilitate resolutions and to meet stakeholders’ requirements.  This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Conditions of Employment

  • Position requires applicant to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

  • Position requires up to 25% TDY/Business Travel
  • This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position.  Unless specifically granted a position waiver by the Director of Acquisition Career Management or the Army Acquisition Executive the following requirements are mandated:
  • Selectee must execute a written tenure agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
  • Selectee must obtain the Practitioner Career Level Certification in Test and Evaluation within 5 years.
  • Position requires submission of a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
