Job Responsibilities

As the senior audiovisual information specialist, coordinates a variety of different occupational specialties, including audiovisual production, visual information, photography, and other technical support personnel engaged in a variety of audiovisual information mission areas. Acts as a project officer responsible for coordinating a variety of visual information operations and functions, including audiovisual productions, electronic multimedia imaging/graphics, photography and video editing, reproduction, video teleconferencing and all upgrade of visual information mission area type equipment.

Acts as a project officer to accomplish audiovisual productions, which involve various subject matter areas such as information, education, and instruction involving highly technical, abstract, and theoretical topics. Closely coordinates with the requesting agency and in-house audiovisual personnel to establish internal schedules and support; selects writers, actors, and shooting locations; and approves studio sets, artwork, animation, still photos, and stock library requirements. Obtains audiovisual coverage from outside civilian or military agencies; directs and approves the action and/or results of technical personnel involved in all phases of production to include direction, photography, editing, art/animation, music and sound effects, narration, acting, mixing, and laboratory. Obtains required approvals upon completion of editing and final phases of production. 

Acts as a project officer to accomplish still and motion film photographic documentation of RDT&E missions; a variety of WSMR installation activities; and direction and production of sound motion pictures and videotapes in support of the various programs. Closely coordinates with in-house and contractor personnel to accomplish still photography in 35mm, medium format (120/220), 70mm sequence format, remotely triggered cameras, and aerial photography; motion photography in 16mm film, videotape, high speed, time lapse, aerial, and animation photography; and production functions to include direction and editing of motion film and videotape in various formats, editing of recorded voice, sound effects and music, and sound recording. 

Coordinates the operations of the photographic laboratory, graphic arts and presentation services, including video teleconferencing. These services involve electronic generation of material as well as chemical based photography and hand drawn artwork. 

Serves as the Electronic Multimedia Imagery Center Coordinator and Systems Network Administrator. Coordinates and participates in the planning and development of new visual information (VI) requirements in computer graphic, digital imagery, multimedia and digital output equipment, and it's integration into a viable presentation system. Manages and analyzes or performs work necessary to design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain or modify systems for solving VI problems using computer graphics, multimedia presentations, and electronic digital imaging. 

Assists in monitoring and inspection of the range VI services contractor. Provides statistical and financial control of audiovisual resources, prepares VI budget requirements, assists in preparation of scope of work for services contracts, contract modifications and amendments and prepares operational support plans.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED. You will be evaluated based on your level of competency in the following areas:

Principles, practices, methods, and techniques for communicating information through audiovisual means. 

All phases of audiovisual information operations include audiovisual production, electronics, multimedia imaging/graphics, photography and video editing, reproduction, video teleconferencing and all upgrade of visual information mission area type equipment. 

Develop contract specifications, coordinate logistics, control expenses, and arrange procurement for complex programs with significant planning and scheduling problems.

Conditions of Employment

1. Must obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.

2. Position requires long periods of standing; walking over rough or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, or stretching; and recurring lifting of moderately heavy equipment and materials.

3. The position requires moderate risks or discomforts, such as working near or on moving machinery, using flammable or explosive materials, or being exposed to outdoor environments.

4. The work may require special safety precautions and the use of protective clothing or gear.

5. Temporary duty travel up to 25%.

6. May be required to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and/or overtime.

7. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs is required. Pre-employment physical required.
 

Travel Requirements

Majority of Travel will be up to 20%/Some positions travel up to 40% (Dependent on Position/Location/Organization)
