Job Responsibilities

 Serves as Lead Modeling and Simulation Analyst or Evaluator for multiple Army programs and systems in RAED.  Responsible for leading analytical studies and evaluation efforts of Digital Technologies used to support major Army T&E decisions. Responsible for developing and executing analytically sound evaluation methodologies that will determine if Digital Tools are credible and can be used to produce system evaluation data. 

DUTY DESCRIPTION:

  • Leads evaluation planning, execution, and reporting of Digital Tools in support of major T&E decisions.
  • Conducts Modeling & Simulation(M&S) analysis and evaluation in support of Army programs and initiatives, performs research of new and existing M&S tools in support of system evaluations
  • Participates in Army Digital Modernization efforts to discover and implement novel technologies that will forge new methodologies to create evaluation data and inform Army decisions
  • Collaborate with experts in the areas of AI/ML, Robotics and Autonomous systems, Data Analytics, Statisticians, Engineers and various STEM professionals to uncover Digital Technologies that can be used to create efficiencies in T&E
  • Represents ATEC as the lead Action Officer for planning and executing the M&S Accreditation in coordination with stakeholders of the Verification, Validation, and Accreditation Process.
  • Develops the M&S strategy for assigned systems that is implemented and executed throughout the system acquisition T&E process.
  • Serves as M&S Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all assigned programs. Interacts with Senior leaders to advise on credibility of M&S tools, techniques, and implementation.

Due to the pandemic, this position is currently teleworking 100% of the time except as needed in the office to work with classified documents and data. When the office returns to normal capacity, teleworking up to two days per week is allowed by the current command policy.

3. This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time. Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

4. Position requires the selectee to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. 
Note: Although this position currently only requires a Secret clearance, some work we do requires a Top Secret clearance. There is a possibility you may be requested to obtain a Top Secret clearance at a later time. For a Top Secret security clearance, or a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Access (SCI), personnel must pass a drug screening and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing thereafter in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.
5. This position requires submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter. The purpose of this report is to assist employees and their agencies in avoiding conflicts between official duties and private financial interests or affiliations. Agency ethics officials will use the information that filers provide to determine whether any potential conflicts exist.

6. This position has a training and certification requirement after employment begins. ATEC will provide access to all the Army training necessary for you to achieve certification.  This acquisition position requires LEVEL III certification in the acquisition career field of Test & Evaluation (T); or, the incumbent must be able to obtain certification within 24 months of appointment. Incumbent must also be an Acquisition Corps member after achieving certification and upon reaching the upper portion of the pay band. The Army Acquisition Corps is a group of civilian personnel who have completed all training and certifications in their career field.
