The United States Army Test and Evaluation Command is posting this announcement to fill a current vacancy. The chosen candidates will serve as an Ammunition Supply Specialist supporting the Ammunition & Armaments Division, Ammunition Branch at Yuma Test Center, Yuma, AZ. A selection will be made soon after the closing date. Selection of this position is permanent and will be made at the GS-09 grade level.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

As an Ammunition Supply Specialist, you will: 

  • Perform ammunition management functions, such as ordering, receiving, shipping, and storing ammunition products.
  • Manage the inventory quality control program to ensure compliance with governing regulations and policies of ammunition.
  • Ensure that proper controls are being followed, such as determining physical security requirements, as well as, data handling security requirements.
  • Support the Ammunition Management Team by utilizing knowledge of ammunition, logistics, accountability, inventory, and demilitarization.
  • Perform inventory functions to include building inventory and causative research to provide accurate information.
  • Provide recommendations, such as changes in ammunition supply policies and procedures, as well as, develop guidance materials to explain regulatory and policy changes.
  • Use automated programs essential to the mission of ammunition logistics to provide up to date information.
  • Provide communication with customers, vendors and contractors concerning their Ammunition requirements to meet customer service needs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Conditions of Employment

 
      • The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
      • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
      • Occasional overnight business travel away from duty station for up to 10%.
      • Incumbent must be cleared IAW requirements of AR 190-11, Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E).
      • This position requires the incumbent to meet the requirements of AMCR 350-4, Training and Certification Program of personnel working in ammunition operations.

      • This announcement uses the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
      • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
