PLACE OF WORK:

 

 

Dugway Proving Ground is seeking applicants with an administrative background to work in the Commander's Office on Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Dugway Proving Ground is approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah, and 90-minute drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is being advertised at both the GS-8 and GS-9 levels. If selected at the GS-8 level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next level once all conditions for advancement have been met. This includes but is not limited to 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level, meeting Time-in-Grade, and having an acceptable work performance. Management may select from any level for which this position is advertised and for which the applicant is qualified.

Job Responsibilities

•Maintain electronic calendars and arrange appointments for the Commander of Dugway Proving Ground, the Command Sergeant Major, and the Chief of Staff.

 

 

•Prepare and disseminate correspondence and administrative documents using Microsoft Office programs.

 

 

•Leads the development and updates of administrative procedures and policies for the WDTC.

 

 

•Maintains office files and ensures that are compliant with applicable regulatory guidance. 

 

 

•Maintains office publications and directives, ensuring they are current and updated periodically.

 

 

•Responsible for administrative office functions of the Command Office.

 

 

•Coordinate travel arrangements, authorizations, and vouchers for organizational personnel.

 

 

•Review correspondence or other documents for correct formatting, grammar and punctuation.

 

 

•Timecard entry, quality control and assistance.

 

 

•Provides training to subordinate organization admins within the organization.

 

 

•Screen calls and visitors to determine appropriate action.

 

 

If selected at the GS-8 level, you will work under closer supervision and some aspects of the work will be developmental in nature until you reach the full performance of the position.

Specialized Experience

EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

 

 

Specialized experience for the GS-8 level: One year of specialized experience: 1. using a personal computer and computer programs to type a variety of documents, such as memorandums, letters, reports and e-mails; 2. utilizing knowledge of proper formats, grammar, spelling and punctuation to review documents for others; and 3. scheduling and making appointments for others. 4. Serving as a timekeeper. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07 or equivalent).

 

 

Specialized experience for the GS-9 level: One year of specialized experience: 1. using a personal computer and computer programs to type a variety of documents, such as memorandums, letters, reports and e-mails; 2. Training others on proper formats, grammar, spelling and punctuation for various written documents; 3. scheduling and making appointments for others using a variety of virtual platforms such as Outlook, MS Teams, etc.; and 4. communicating with civilian and military leaders; 5. Experience auditing timecards for compliance and identifying training needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08 or equivalent).
