Job Summary

• This position is within the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center (RTC) Aviation Flight Test Directorate (AFTD).  RTC participates in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project, AcqDemo, among other features. AcqDemo replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands.

  The NH-04 band is equal to the GS-14 step 1 through GS-15 step 10. However, this position is subject to the NH-04, Non-Supervisory Professional/Evaluator/Tester Analyst control point of the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) Control Point Policy, $166,147 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates the design and development of data processing and data visualization tools
• Acts as a subject-matter expert on processing and parsing IRIG-106 Chapter 10 and Chapter 9 TMATS files
• Works with the Redstone Test Center Chief Data Officer and S6 to develop cloud ready software that also supports merging stand-alone TDY mission systems upon return
• Resolves day-to-day data anomalies and issues by working with a multitude of engineering specialties
• Assists telemetry operators and engineers with automating complex tasks
• Design, implement, and assist in maintaining databases such as SQL, MongoDB, Apache, etc
• Leads, defines, manages, and integrates efforts of a team in achieving organizational goals

Job Qualification

This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

FOREIGN EDUCATION:

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. 

Specialized Experience

In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position, you must also meet the qualification requirements below:

At least 10 years of specialized experience, which includes:

1. Familiarization with processing data that is not byte aligned into usable, visualizable parameters.

2. Experience developing a distributed data processing system designed to share computation and storage resources from multiple computers.

3. Experience processing large data files in excess of 400 GB.
