PLACE OF WORK: U.S. Army Operational Test Command (USAOTC), Fort Hood, Texas
ATEC is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Among other features, AcqDemo replaced GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The NH-03 is equivalent to the former GS-12, step 01 through GS-13, step 10. ATEC uses salary control points to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $122,683 including locality pay.
ATEC has various incentives that may be available for highly qualified candidates, including recruitment and relocation incentives, student loan repayment, and credit for leave accrual. Incentives may be authorized IAW agency policy. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations. Job Responsibilities
- Serves as a test technologist (a multi-disciplined position spanning many technological fields), or as an analyst for test technology (modeling, simulations, instrumentation, and test control products and projects), and/or methodology and analysis.
- Provides advanced engineering and/or scientific advice relative to the overall test and evaluation effort associated with a broad category of materiel and equipment. Provides authoritative advice and assistance for assigned products and technologies.
- Participates in the work of a multi-disciplinary team of government and contractor personnel in using test technology and analysis tools to meet the requirements of operational tests, assessments, and experiments.
- Collaborates with the Army Futures Command (AFC), Cross Functional Teams, OTC Test Directorates, ATEC Test Centers, Program Executive Offices, Program Managers, and other organizations to inform operational test (OT) test technology requirements.
- Encourages sharing of test technologies and development of cost effective test technologies capable of satisfying cross-domain requirements. Testing sites may be at remote locations requiring travel to test sites.

Specialized Experience
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience includes 1) Expertise conducting tests of equipment; 2) Experience using test technology and/or analysis tools to meet the requirements of operational tests, assessments, and/or experiments; and 3) Expertise utilizing knowledge of test and evaluation principals, practices, methods, and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11). Some federal jobs allow substitution of education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialized experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
