Job Summary

The position is located within the MOCC, at the US Army Redstone Test Center (RTC).

RTC participates in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project, AcqDemo.  Among other features, AcqDemo replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands.

The NH-03 band is equal to the GS-12 step 1 through GS-13 step 10. However, this position is subject to the NH-03, Non-Supervisory Senior Professional/Evaluator/Test/Analyst control point of the ATEC Control Point Policy $115,074 per year, not including locality pay.
 

Job Responsibilities

1.  Leadership skills to supervise and direct range operations effectively and airspace management, especially during busy or high-stress periods.

2. Thoroughness in inspecting range facilities and equipment for safety hazards or maintenance shortcomings.

3. Ability to work collaboratively with other range staff, including range officers, test engineers, and maintenance personnel.

4. Expert knowledge in range safety requirements.

5. Working knowledge of building and managing range operations budget.

Time-In-Grade Requirements:

Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.

Specialized Experience

1. Two years’ experience with Range Management Operations, and

2. Knowledge of airspace management and deconfliction of airspace, and

3. Proven experience leading teams to accomplish IT requirements, and

4. Expertise working with multiple service, government, and contract agencies. 

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
