Job Summary

The United States Army Test and Evaluation Command is posting this advertisement for the subject position above under the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) Direct-Hire Authority. The chosen candidate will serve as an Office Support Assistant supporting Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma, AZ. A selection will be made soon after the closing date. Selection of this position will be made at the NK-0303-03 (GS-08) grade level.

The NK-3 pay band is equal to the GS-08 step 1 through GS-10 step 10. The control point for this position is $65,423 (GS-08 step 10). The pay will be set no higher than $65,423.00.

*There is NO immediate pay change with a reassignment if the employee is currently an NK-03 in AcqDemo.

Job Responsibilities

Position serves as an office manager and administrative assistant to the Resource Management Directorate, U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). Incumbent provides advice and recommendations to the Director on all matters relative to the coordination, integration, and synchronization of actions, events, and activities; and is responsible for the performance and coordination of all administrative management, and procedural functions, for the command group and administrative staff throughout the organization.

 

As an Office Support Assistant you will:

. Perform all administrative matters, to include receiving and screening incoming information in the form of electronic mail, facsimiles, or written correspondence.

. Respond to correspondence and information requests frequently originate from officials in DOD, DA, and other government departments; as well as from important representatives of industry and the general public.

. Prepare one-time and recurring reports of organizational program status, accomplishments, etc. using substantive knowledge of programs across all functional command areas; as well as priorities and preferences.

. Review and edit correspondence; channels through the appropriate directorates of the Command Group; and submits releases to other agencies, organizations, or officials.

. Utilize varied functions of office automation software (e.g. electronic spreadsheets, electronic mail, calendar, graphics software, etc.) to create, edit, and manipulate files and information necessary to produce correspondence, forms, reports, and audio-visual aids for briefings.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in clerical duties utilizing computer software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NK-02 (GS-07).

Proficiency Requirement: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • This position may require occasional TDY up to 5%.
