Job Summary
The United States Army Test and Evaluation Command is posting this advertisement to fill multiple current vacancies. The chosen candidates will serve as an Office Support Assistant supporting one of the following branches: Electronic Warfare Branch within the Air Combat Directorate or the Armaments Branch within the Ground Combat Directorate at the Yuma Test Center in Yuma, AZ. A selection will be made soon after the closing date. Selection of this position is permanent and will be made at the GS-06 grade level.
Job Responsibilities
As Office Support Assistant you will:
- Provides administrative support to the Branch Chief with responsibility in the following functional areas: office administration, timekeeping, travel, training, budget, records management, supplies, reports, and taskers.
- Receive and screen incoming mail, email, written correspondence, or directives and determines which may be handled personally and which items require supervisor attention.
- Determine proper response on numerous other inquiries and actions by utilizing discretion and alertness.
- Prepare correspondence, briefings, and other internal/external communications for the Branch Chief and maintain records according to current Army standards.
- Conduct searches for, collects and assembles, and summarize various kinds of data, reports, and informational materials needed by the Branch Chief and the others within the branch.
- Assist branch employees with necessary arrangements for travel both in and outside of the continental United States.
- Make arrangements for training, meetings, and conferences; ensuring details such as location, schedule, agendas, and attendance lists are completed.
- Attend meetings to take notes; or is briefed on matters after they take place in order to make a record of desired actions.
- Receive telephone calls from various internal and external customers.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Job Qualification
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience managing administrative activities in an office setting and acting as an assistant to management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service equivalent to GS-05.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Conditions of Employment
- You must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Two-year probationary period may be required.

- Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within a designated time frame identified by the organization. At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy.
