Job Summary
The United States Army Test and Evaluation Command is posting this advertisement to fill a current vacancy. The chosen candidate will serve as a General Engineer (Test Officer) within the Aviation Systems and Electronic Test Division at Yuma Test Center in Yuma, AZ. A selection will be made soon after the closing date.
*There is NO immediate pay change with a reassignment if the employee is currently an NH-03 in AcqDemo.
A Test Officer plans, conducts, and reports on the testing of aviation, air delivery, sensor, and electronic warfare systems. The Test Officer is the central point of contact for customers at YTC for their program, designs the test to meet customer requirements, and coordinates the execution of testing.
Job Responsibilities
The incumbent plans, designs, coordinates, executes, monitors, evaluates and reports test and evaluation of these systems incorporating state-of-the-art technology and requiring substantial deviation from established test procedures and/or development of new instrumentation systems. Assigned tests focus on the evaluation or implementation of aerodynamic principles or applications. Tests are usually feasibility, engineering design, or development tests although workload occasionally dictates performance of acceptance tests. Incumbent may be assigned independent responsibility for a project having the characteristics described above; serve as project engineer on a major, complex system that is part of a high visibility, high-cost program for which a team leader has overall responsibility; or lead a team of two or three lower grade engineers and technicians on a project involving substantial deviation from established test procedures and/or development of new instrumentation systems.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience
In addition to the Basic Educational Requirement, you must also demonstrate Specialized Experience. You must possess one year of demonstrated experience that has equipped you to do the work of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
One year of specialized experience which includes: planning and conducting testing and analyzing system test data to provide feedback for test. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11)
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
