PLACE OF WORK: U.S. Army Operational Test Command (USAOTC), Fort Cavazos, Texas
 
Selection may be made at GS-11 (salary $72,553-$94,317), GS-12 (salary $86,962-$113,047) or Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) NH-03 broadband. AcqDemo replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The band NH-03 is equal to GS-12 Step 01 through GS-13 step 10. ATEC uses salary control points to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $134,435 including locality.

ATEC has various incentives that may be available for highly qualified candidates including recruitment incentives, relocation incentives, student loan repayment, and credit for leave accrual. Incentives may be authorized IAW agency policy.

Job Responsibilities

- Serves as a test technologist (a multi-disciplined position spanning many technological fields) or as an analyst for test technology (modeling, simulations, instrumentation, and test control products and projects) and/or methodology and analysis.
- Provides advanced engineering and/or scientific advice relative to the overall test and evaluation effort associated with a broad category of materiel and equipment.
- Provides authoritative advice and assistance for assigned products and technologies.  Performs analysis/determination of testing alternatives.
- Participates in the work of a multi-disciplinary team of government and contractor personnel in using test technology and analysis tools to meet the requirements of operational tests, assessments, and experiments, and develop technology and overall quality control plans for instrumented test data.
- Collaborates with Army Futures Command (AFC), cross-functional teams, OTC test directorates, ATEC test centers, Program Executive Offices, program managers, and other organizations to inform operation test technology requirements.
- Encourages sharing of test technology and development of cost effective test technologies capable of satisfying cross-domain requirements. Testing sites may be at remote locations requiring travel to test sites, outdoor work in tactical field environments, and ability to climb into/out of tactical vehicles, armored vehicles, helicopters, etc.

Specialized Experience

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.  Preferred specialized experience would include:  

1) Applying a wide range of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods, principles, and techniques related to analytical, mathematical, statistical, actuarial theories, principles and practices.
2) Planning, executing, administering/applying, and monitoring technologies for use in data collection and developing, acquiring, or modifying products to meet operational testing requirements.
3) Applying data collection methods using state-of-the-art technologies, database techniques, big data analytics, and data visualization tools.

Conditions of Employment

- This position is subject to a temporary duty (TDY)/business travel requirement of 25-40% or less of the time, including travel by military or commercial aircraft during TDY.
- Duties require possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles, and any installation and/or Department of Defense license required if/when driving any government vehicles.
