Job Responsibilities
Serve as the Command Information Management Officer (IMO) under the direction of the Chief Information (CIO) and perform IMO duties, as outlined in AR 25-1, AR 25-2, and DA PAM 25-1-1, in direct support of the Command Developmental and operational testing missions.
- Provides and monitors customer support operations.
- Oversees plans that include developing and/or using programs to isolate causes of problems among hardware, system software, and applications.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of systems, devices, procedures, and methods to safeguard classified, private, and other sensitive data in computer accessible media.
- Responsible for the configuration management of computers systems and various Information Technology (IT) solutions throughout the Command.
- Responsible for resolving user trouble tickets and for providing advice to Helpdesk and system administrators for specifically difficult problems.
- Identifies requirements for Helpdesk support of information systems within the Command, and independently sets priorities for the accomplishments of those requirements.
- Develops user operating instructions for various computing functions.
- Reviews and selects hardware and software from commercially available sources; assists end users with selection; performs evaluations resulting in recommendations; and resolves equipment and software compatibility questions.

Supports CIO budgetary and Information Technology (IT) purchasing efforts to include Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submissions, Army Portfolio Management System (APMS) management, Information Technology Approval System (ITAS) submissions, and General Fund Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS) IT procurement approvals.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.(2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation.(3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. - Must obtain and maintain information assurance certification and computing environment certifications per Army policy and DoD directive. Certification for IAT-II, IAW DoD 8570-01-M & DoC Directive 8140.01, is required for this position.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances is not authorized.
- Relocation Incentive maybe offered.
- This is a TERM position NTE 5 Years. This position can be converted to permanent career-conditional without further competition.
- This is NOT a REMOTE Position.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 10%.
