Job Summary

About the Position: The Training Instructor (Test Paratrooper), also known as Test Paratrooper Training Instructor (TPTI), is assigned to the U.S. Army Operational Test Command (USAOTC), Airborne and Special Operations Test Directorate (ABNSOTD). The TPTI is expected to work independently and lead other instructors to meet the duties of this position and with little direct daily supervision.

Job Responsibilities

  • Military Free Fall Instructor (MFFI) qualified by a USSOCOM recognized program or possesses a US Parachutist Association (USPA) Accelerated Freefall Instructor Rating.
  • The TPTI has the responsibility of ensuring assigned personnel are trained, keep current and are capable of performing their Test Paratrooper duties.
  • Supports testing as a certified Test Paratrooper for Static Line and MFF. This will include conducting pre-jump, supporting as Jump Master, conducting the test jump, and supporting the recovery and data collection after the jump is competed.
  • Develops and tailors the Individual Training Plan (ITP) for each of the Test Paratroopers to ensure development.
  • Administers and grades practical examinations of Test Paratroopers in each area of instruction; provides feedback to students and the Test Director.
