ABOUT THE POSITION: Metrology & Simulation Division is seeking a motivated candidate to serve as the Simulation Branch Chief. This is a detail opportunity, not a promotion.
Job Responsibilities
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Serve as a Branch Chief within the Metrology and Simulation Division. Provide technical oversight and assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- Direct, plan, perform, and evaluate work assigned in (a) radiographic x-ray imaging, (b) simulated rough handling environments, (c) simulated vibration environments, (d) simulated weather/climatic environments, and (e) design, development and acquisition of instrumentation and equipment for program.
- Direct the preparation of detailed specifications and all technical aspects of the procurement of equipment and instrumentation for mission work.
- Meet and coordinate with customer agency personnel to develop resources, methods, procedures, and plans to accomplish test support mission. Design, develop, and provide facilities, systems, special instrumentation, or equipment performing the test. Prepare or direct the preparation of test plan proposals for special one-of-a-kind tests.
- Design, acquire, and developfacilities, equipment, and instrumentation for mission accomplishment. Prepare short- and long-range plans to meet workload projections, technical requirements, and capabilities.
- Direct the preparation of detailed specifications and all technical aspects of the procurement of equipment and instrumentation for mission work. Establish requirements for and directs acceptance of equipment and instrumentation.
- Establish and maintain contact with all Directorates to provide program requirements. Establish and maintain contact with other agencies for technical advancements in mission areas and certification requirements. Maintain contacts with contractors and manufacturers for assuring equipment and instrumentation meet current state-of-the-art definitions and establish/maintain contacts with the agency's customers for determining and developing program requirements.
Job Qualification
High performing U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground current NH-03 or equivalent employees. Candidates must meet minimum qualification requirements for the following job series:
0801 - General Engineer
0830 - Mechanical Engineer
0855 - Electrical Engineer
Conditions of Employment
1. Position requires a Secret security clearance.
2. There is no change in pay or grade for this assignment.
