Dugway Proving Ground is seeking applicants for a Lead Engineering Technician with photography and visual information experience for the Data Sciences Division, Test Referee Branch on Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Dugway Proving Ground is approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah, and 90-minute drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. Dugway offers affordable on-post housing as well as subsidized commuter van transport. Job Responsibilities

Serves as Lead Engineering Technician and leads a team consisting of Engineering Technicians, Photographers, an Audio-Visual Production Specialist, Visual Information Specialist, and a Data Reduction Specialist. Ensures that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team. Communicates the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, program issues under review, and deadlines for completion. 

Serves as a technical expert in the field of ultra-high-speed image acquisition, high-speed digital/analog optical data collection systems, video surveillance systems, infrared imaging, visual data capture, video compression methods, video/data transmission and motion analysis processes using different types of video technologies, such as 4K high definition through National Television System Committee (NTSC) standard definition. Responsible for local and remote test cite systems and subsystems used to acquire, analyze, and report engineering test and evaluation data on a wide variety of experimental and developmental systems, i.e., aviation, munitions, and weapons systems. Serves as the technical point of contact and coordinator on matters relating to the utilization of optical data acquisition systems to support the overall test effort for the team.

Specialized Experience

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

SPECIALZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-13: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must demonstrate as least one year of:  1. Experience with photography and imaging associated with data collection systems, and related information technology fields, such as digital and analog electronics. 2. Experience using optical instrumentation to collect and extract critical test data. 3. Assisting with analyzing support requirements, to determine areas where Optical Instrumentation System support is required. 4. Project management experience. This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
