Job Summary

The United States Army Test and Evaluation Command is posting this advertisement for the subject position above under the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) Direct-Hire Authority. The chosen candidate will serve as an Industrial Hygienist supporting the Safety Directorate at Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma, AZ. A selection will be made soon after the closing date. Selection of this position will be made at NH-03*. This position is subject to the NH-03 Non-Supervisory Journeyman Professional (GS 12 equivalent) ATEC Control Point Policy.

 

 *There is NO immediate pay change with a reassignment if the employee is currently an NH-03 in AcqDemo.

Job Responsibilities

As an Industrial Hygienist you will:

  • Assure that all potential health hazards at YPG workplaces are identified and recommended corrective actions are brought to the attention of management.
  • Evaluate all potentially hazardous operations to insure the elimination or control of occupational health hazards.
  • Participate with environmental, safety, occupational health, and preventive medicine personnel of facilities to assess health hazards and need for medical monitoring, health maintenance, health education, and disease and injury prevention programs.
  • Perform various duties to assess work practices and environmental conditions for all hazards present in support of ATEC test mission requirements.
  • Perform studies, analysis, recommendations of corrective action, and preparation of reports.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • TDY up to 5% to field locations is required to support ATEC/YPG and may require extended periods in austere living conditions (e.g. hot, cold, dust, etc.)
  • May be required to participate in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Training and wear NBC equipment and/or approved respiratory protection equipment.
  • May be required (as determined by Commander or his designated representative) to participate infield exercises alongside military counterparts.
