PLACE OF WORK
This position is located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD in the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, G-3/5, Operations Division.
 
Control Point Statement: The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Among other features, the Demonstration Project replaced GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The band NH-03 is equal to the former GS-12 Step 01 through GS-13 step 10. ATEC uses salary control points to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broad band. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $153,354 including locality.

Job Responsibilities

Serves as the primary liaison for a Direct Reporting Unit to Headquarters, Department of the Army, and subordinate organizations with respect to all current operations and functions. Receives and directs classified and unclassified tasks from DA, DoD, and other U.S Government agencies. Analyzes tasks to determine appropriate assignment to subordinate commands. Monitors progress of task orders and makes adjustments to late tasking orders with minimal interruption or inconvenience. Primary point of contact for the Directorate, 10-1 series. Is cognizant of requirements, objectives, goals, and degree of effectiveness of the operational projects and programs through analysis of studies, reports, and regulations. Establishes priorities for programs and projects in compliance with program/project objectives. Responds to common staff actions such as Requests for Information, review of documents, conduct of research, preparations of briefings, and response to queries from Staff and Command Group.

Participates in the planning and conduct of a wide range of special studies and reports to improve the quality and efficiency of assigned mission operations, which are characterized by their extensive, many faceted, and obscure nature. Identifies existing data sources that can be applied to the problem; analyzes data; formulates alternative solutions, including impacts; and recommends course of action and implementing procedures. Serves as operational lead for task tracking system. Serves as operational lead for task tracking system. Coordinates command participation for Component Forces Land Component Command Meetings with the Vice Chief of Staff, U.S. Army.  Maintains and provides internal and external tasking input for Directorate weekly fragmentary orders. Provides support to adjacent staff officers on actions requiring Division participation and assistance. 

Maintains and promotes situational awareness throughout the command with respect to the development and status of major events impacting the mission using email, Army Messages, executive orders, and memorandums as necessary. Attends meetings, briefings, and video teleconferences as required. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with subordinate commands, Staff, Action Officers, and other offices.

Conditions of Employment

  • Remote work is not authorized.
