Job Summary

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, G3/G2 Division at Fort Hood, TX.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the Command by recommending and developing measures to safeguard sensitive and classified information, facilities and operations.
  • Assists in the management of the Command Operations Security (OPSEC), responsible for functions pertaining to sensitive and classified activities.
  • Maintains the commands Operation Security (OPSEC) profile; conduct OPSEC surveys of sensitive and classified activities.
  • Coordinates personnel security program by providing guidance and monitoring unit compliance for input in required personnel security investigations.
  • Coordinates information security functions regarding potential or actual compromise of classified information with the Information Assurance Manager.
  • Recommends and develop measures to safeguard sensitive and classified information security classification guides; test security plans designed to protect classified, sensitive, and special access programs.
  • Monitors derogatory input requirements to meet established suspense and required data input.
  • Maintains and update the automated personnel system; create and manage security database on all Directorate personnel; and initiate and process all security clearance requests.
  • Receives, analyzes, and processes reports of unfavorable personnel actions, military police blotters, individual personnel records, suitability files, and reports of derogatory information.
  • Reviews position requirements and assists Security Manager in designating position sensitivity levels and determine security clearance investigation and clearance requirements.
  • Reviews and processes requests for security clearances for access to classified information for military and Department of the Army civilian personnel.
  • Assists in coordinating with other installations and Major Command (MACOM) on personnel security matters.
  • Manages the Command Physical Security program, responsible for physical security of emerging and existing local assets, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Provides required security training as designated by the Security Manager.
